The Dick Van Dyke Show was an American situation comedy that ran from October 3, 1961 to June 1, 1966. It focused on the personal and professional life of Rob Petrie(Dick Van Dyke). Some scenes showed Rob at work writing for the fictional comedy/variety series The Alan Brady Show. He was seen collaborating with his co-workers Buddy Sorrell(Morey Amsterdam) and Sally Rogers(Rose Marie). Also seen among the staff was Mel Cooley(Richard Deacon), the producer and the star's brother-in-law. We also got a glimpse of Rob's home life, interacting with his wife Laura(Mary Tyler Moore), his son Richie(Larry Mathews), and neighbors Millie and Jerry Helper(Ann Guilbert and Jerry Paris).
